Please be aware that the Department for Education insists that leave (this includes holidays) can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances therefore requests should be in writing from the parent/carer with whom the child lives and sent to the school as far in advance as possible. Unfortunately, the school is only allowed to give permission in exceptional circumstances and therefore parents/carers are strongly advised to submit a written request to the principal before making any arrangements for leave/holidays. The DfE’s position means that holidays taken during term time are usually unauthorised.
