Our Curriculum

Supporting Every Child to Become the Best They Can Be
School and Sixth Form

Learning Designed Around Every Child

At our School, every student arrives with their own story, strengths and aspirations, alongside a diverse range of needs. Many of our learners have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs with coexisting conditions, and these individual profiles shape every decision we make.

Students’ starting points, barriers to learning and lived experiences -together with the detail in their EHCPs - inform a curriculum that is personalised, meaningful and ambitious.

Our work is grounded in our school values of Close Collaboration, Unwavering Integrity, Compassionate Curiosity, Empowering Community and Visionary Thinking which shape how we design learning; interact with pupils and families and create an environment where every child can flourish academically, socially and emotionally to become the best that they can be.

A Curiosity Led Foundation in Lower School

In Lower School, our curriculum is enriched by The Curiosity Approach, creating calm, inspiring spaces filled with natural, open ended materials that spark exploration and wonder. Through this approach:

  • children discover, question and play with purpose

  • communication and social interaction grow naturally

  • imagination and problem solving deepen

  • emotional regulation is supported through warm, responsive relationships

This aligns beautifully with our values of Compassionate Curiosity and Visionary Thinking, nurturing confident, independent learners who feel empowered to explore and express themselves.

WHSS Baccalaureate

Our Upper School offers a broad and inclusive curriculum through our WHSS Baccalaureate, designed to support a wide range of pathways and aspirations.

Students can access a diverse selection of subjects tailored to their interests and future goals, including core areas such as English, Maths, and Science, alongside creative and practical options like Art and Design, Design Technology (DT), and Hospitality.

We also provide enriching opportunities in Physical Development & Healthy Lifestyles (PDHL) and Sports Leadership, as well as Outdoor Education to build resilience and teamwork.

In addition, courses such as OCR Life and Living Skills, Skills for Working Life, and Careers education equip students with essential independence, employability, and life skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for life beyond the drive.

A Seamless 24 Hour Learning Experience

Our multidisciplinary team works together to ensure consistency and continuity around every child. This integrated approach strengthens relationships, builds trust and reflects our belief that learning does not begin and end at the classroom door.

Learning spans KS1 – KS5, with a true 24 hour curriculum that supports academic progress, emotional wellbeing and the development of life skills. Teaching is sequential, carefully scaffolded and continually reinforced to support strong recall and long term understanding.

British Values and SMSC

Rather than taught in isolation, British Values and SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development) are threaded through daily routines, relationships and learning experiences.

  • Democracy appears through student voice activities, class decision-making and restorative conversations.

  • The Rule of Law is understood through clear boundaries, fairness and consistent expectations underpinned by Unwavering Integrity.

  • Individual Liberty is promoted as students build independence, make choices and gain confidence in their abilities.

  • Mutual Respect and Tolerance grow through our rich curriculum, cultural celebrations, therapeutic relationships and emphasis on empathy, kindness and diversity.

SMSC is ever present: students experience wonder outdoors, explore creativity in the arts, reflect on their feelings and choices, collaborate with others and connect with wider cultural events and traditions. These elements link seamlessly with our values.
