Effective Date: Wednesday 15th April 2026
At the William Henry Smith Foundation, we are committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to provide an inclusive online experience for all users.
Current Accessibility Status
Our new website is a work in progress, and while we have designed it with accessibility in mind, we acknowledge that not all areas fully meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA at this time.
Known limitations include:
Some documents, particularly PDFs, may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
Certain videos or multimedia may not yet have captions or transcripts.
Third-party content or plugins may not meet accessibility standards.
We are planning a full accessibility audit in May and will make improvements to ensure compliance across the website.
How We Are Improving Accessibility
We are working with our web development team and content providers to:
Enhance keyboard navigation and screen reader support.
Ensure clear, readable text and sufficient colour contrast.
Make forms and interactive content accessible.
Provide accessible alternatives for documents and media where possible.
