Every Voice Matters

At our school, Student Voice is a vibrant and essential part of who we are. We are a group of students from across School & Sixth Form who meet on a weekly basis.

How does it work?

Student voice representatives meet closely with their learning groups, as a mechanism for bringing student voice to the table. Rooted in our values of close collaboration, compassionate curiosity, unwavering integrity, visionary thinking, and a strong sense of community, we ensure that every student feels heard, respected, and empowered.

Our students play a meaningful role in shaping decisions that influence their learning experience and the wider school environment, working alongside staff to drive positive change. By placing Student Voice at the very heart of our foundation, we nurture confident, thoughtful young people who actively contribute to the direction and spirit of our school.

Our Student Voice team continues to make a meaningful impact across school life through thoughtful collaboration and forward‑thinking ideas. Students have:

  • Played a key role in restructuring our lunchtime routine, advocating for two sittings and a more robust Quality of Life offer that better supports wellbeing.

  • Worked to enhance our breaktime experience, debating and selecting purposeful outdoor equipment that makes social time more engaging and enjoyable.

  • Liaised with our catering team to shape our school menu through regular discussions and shared feedback, ensuring it reflects the needs and tastes of the whole community.

  • Contributed imaginative drawings and practical suggestions to our property advisor, informing decisions about building use and proposed improvements to the school driveway.

The impact of Student Voice

Beyond day‑to‑day operations, our Student Voice group proudly runs the much‑loved tombola at school events, leads ongoing discussions around choosing our next school charity, and plays an active role in classroom design - offering recommendations on furniture, layout, and how learning spaces can best support focus, creativity, and comfort. Student Voice also debuted our first Bill Smith’s Got Talent show for the entire foundation, celebrating student creativity and confidence.

Their work continues to demonstrate the power of student leadership and our commitment to placing young people at the heart of school development.
