Curriculum Design

Our learners needs shape our curriculum design, which falls under the following areas; Communication & Interaction, Cognition Sensory & Physical, Preparation for Key Transitions, independence, Adulthood, Health & Medical.

Individual Approaches

Study programmes will use alternative ways to record and report progress and achievement, linked to their EHCP outcomes. Work related activity is included in our study programmes and all learners can participate in work related learning.

The Preparation for Adulthood Framework sits at the heart of the College offer. It is included into every pathway and provides core subjects, personalised choices and a breadth of opportunities and experiences to create a ‘passport to the future,’ leading to a transition to further education, higher education, training, employment or independent living.

Driving Lessons and Theory

Learning to drive is an exciting step towards independence, and our College supports students in gaining both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Driving lessons provide hands-on experience behind the wheel, helping learners build confidence in real-world traffic situations.

Employment Qualifications

Learners have been gaining valuable qualifications in First Aid, Manual Handling, and CSCS certification, all of which strengthen their prospects for future employment. These achievements equip them with practical, work‑ready skills that employers actively look for, giving them a strong foundation as they move toward their chosen careers.

Careers Advice

Learners meet with our Careers Lead and an Independent Careers Advisor (C&K) to explore their future ambitions. These conversations shape a personalised career pathway, which is then built directly into their timetable. As a result, learners are now choosing subjects that align with their goals and support them on their journey toward their chosen destination.
